[’23 May 11] Special Lecture to the Doctor belonging in Israel Medical Association

Written by Kodai Kobori(Member of SEIDO association)

The other day, Kurihara(chairman of SEIDO association) gave a special lecture to a group of doctors from Israel.

In this article, I would like to report what happened at that time.

On the day of the seminar

On the day of the seminar, there were four members: Mr. Kurihara, Mr. Kusunoki, Mr. Yoshioka, and me.

The venue was an office building. We arrived at the venue earlier than the scheduled time and had a light meeting while chatting with the staff.

We enter the seminar room and make a final check of the materials we have prepared in advance.

The lecture begins

The first half of the lecture started with Kurihara’s lecture.

The lecture focused on acupuncture and moxibustion in Japan and the characteristics of acupuncture needles used in Japan.

He held actual acupuncture needles in his hands and explained about them.

The students were able to feel the thinness and softness of the needles.

It seemed to be a surprise to them who had only heard of “hari” as injection needles.

During a short break after the lecture, many questions were asked about the content of the lecture.

I also told them in English what I know.

Demonstration Time

The second half was a demonstration by the representative.

Since they had come to Japan, they wanted to deliver something that could only be experienced locally, so we gave them a taste of the demonstration we always give at the seminar.

The doctors also experienced the changes that occur in the body in an instant through palpation.

I took on the role of translating this day, so I did my best to translate the symptoms of the demonstrators and the explanations of the representatives.

When they realized that acupuncture could make instantaneous changes, their interest became stronger and stronger.

As their interest grew, their questions heated up.

How often do I need acupuncture?

I have a patient whose cough doesn’t stop, but there is nothing wrong with my tests or my numbers. Can acupuncture make a difference?”

I explained frantically, feeling a responsibility to convey the information accurately.

People often asked me, “Doesn’t acupuncture take time?” How long does it take?” I was asked these questions.

I was impressed by how surprised everyone was when I told them that most changes occur in an instant, not just a demonstration.

Everyone was very interested. They were watching the acupuncture at close range.

When their bodies changed after the demonstration, their expressions relaxed.

They were so excited that their bodies became lighter that they were talking in Hebrew all the time towards the end of the session.

Conclusion

As I already knew from past seminars in Spain, I was reminded that people from any country could see the same changes from acupuncture and are equally surprised.

Even if they don’t understand the language, they can understand the changes.

The stiffness that I felt when I first walked into the room is no longer there. Our hearts have grown closer, and we all took a commemorative photo.

We ended this lecture with the doctors’ group being extremely satisfied.

It was a day when I felt that I was able to transmit the greatness of Japanese acupuncture to the world one step further.

Next month, I will go to Spain to tell the world about the greatness of Japanese acupuncture.
